neither nor是英语中的常用一个词组，意思是既不……也不……，它后面的谓语动词是英语中的高频考点，要熟练掌握。

neither nor 遵循什么原则？

neither…nor…连接两个主语时，谓语动词遵循就近原则。

即谓语的单复数形式取决于最靠近他的词语。

例句：

Neither I nor he is a student.

我和他都不是学生。

常见的需要就近原则的：

1、由here, there, where 等引导的倒装句中，（有时主语不止一个时）谓语动词与靠近它的主语在数上一致。

如：

Here is a pen and some pieces of paper for you. 

给你一支钢笔和几张纸。

Where is your wife and children to stay while you are away?

你不在这儿的时候，你爱人和孩子在哪儿呆呢？

2、用连词or，either.... or，neither…nor，not only…but also等连接的并列主语, 谓语动词与靠近它的主语在数上一致。

如：

Neither the students nor the teacher knows anything about it.

学生和老师都不知道这事。

He or you have taken my pen. 

他或你拿了我的钢笔。

neither nor的用法：

1、neither…nor…表示既不……也不……。其含义是否定的，可连接任意两个并列的成份。

例如：

She likes neither butter nor cheese.

她既不喜欢黄油也不喜欢乳酪。

此句中neither…nor…连接两个宾语。

2、若将neither…nor…句型变为肯定句，只需把neither…nor…改为both…and…即可，同时谓语动词必须用复数形式。

例如：

Both dad and mum are at home today. 

今天父母都在家。

3、还可以单独使用neither作主语，表示两者中没有一个。

例如：

Neither of them likes football.
